Monday's Music to My Ears: You & Me

Wanna pack your bags, Something small
Take what you need and we disappear
Without a trace we'll be gone, gone
The moon and the stars can follow the car
and then when we get to the ocean
We gonna take a boat to the end of the world
All the way to the end of the world.
~Dave Matthews, "You and Me"

Dan and I are preparing for our 10-day journey to the end of the world- or at least, what seems like it- to the beautiful land of New Zealand!! We are going to be in Auckland for the wedding of two of our sweet friends, Teresa and Michael, and then we'll trek along the East Coast of the North Island for a week in a snazzy camper van. Words cannot contain our excitement that has been building for the past few months as we have poured over the travel books we picked up at the library and page after page of websites, creating what we believe is the 'perfect itinerary'. We (...well, just me) have come up with a list of places to go, where to stay, what to eat, things to do, and how to get around. We've skyped with T & M and grilled other friends that have traveled throughout NZ  for their ideas and recommendations. It's going to be incredible!

But in all of the fuss and rush to get things in order, I feel a bit guilty for losing track of the most important detail of all: the fact that I get to share this amazing experience with my best friend and soul mate! The past year of our marriage has been the most challenging, revealing, humbling, passionate, and transforming time of our lives. After everything we have been through so far, I truly believe that -by God's grace- we can endure anything as long as we have each other.

One thing that this year has taught me is whether we are flying together to the other side of the world or driving aimlessly in our own neck of the woods, every day is a chance for us to make memories and cherish our time together. This trip is just another opportunity for us to simply enjoy each other's company and savor every second of our all of our adventures, big and small.
"You and me, together, we can do anything baby!"
